About JADR Safety

Meet Corey Gibson — fractional HSE advisor

I’m Corey Gibson, an independent HSE consultant based in Okotoks, Alberta. With over 20 years of hands-on field experience across seismic programs, oilfield operations, civil construction, and landscaping across Western Canada, I’ve seen what works and what doesn’t when it comes to safety on real worksites.

Through JADR Safety Consulting, I help small and mid-sized contractors across Alberta, BC, and Saskatchewan build safety programs that are practical, field-tested, and realistic for their crews and budgets.

I’ve worked the same sites you work. I know what a real workday looks like — and I build safety programs that fit it, not programs that sit in a drawer.

Common questions

COR audit prep, safety manuals & HSE consulting in Alberta

Do I need a safety program if I only have a few workers?
Alberta OHS requires a formal program for employers with 20 or more workers — but most prime contractors, oil companies, and municipal clients expect a documented safety program regardless of size. If you work on oilfield, construction, or infrastructure projects in AB, BC, or SK, you will almost certainly be asked for it.
What’s the difference between COR and SECOR?
COR (Certificate of Recognition) is for larger employers — typically 10 or more workers — and requires an external audit. SECOR (Small Employer COR) is a streamlined version for employers with fewer than 10 workers. Both are administered through Alberta Certifying Partners like ACSA, and both make you eligible for WCB Alberta premium rebates of up to 20%.
How fast can I get my safety documents?
Safety Document Builder packages are delivered within 1 business day after purchase and company intake. Full consulting engagements typically take 2 to 4 weeks depending on scope.
Do you serve BC and Saskatchewan too?
Yes. We build safety programs aligned with BC WorkSafeBC OHS Regulation and Saskatchewan OHS legislation. Remote consulting is available across all three provinces.
Will your documents satisfy my prime contractor or ISNetworld requirements?
In most cases, yes. Our programs are built to satisfy standard prime-contractor prequalification requirements and are structured to meet common ISNetworld, Avetta, and ComplyWorks expectations.
I’m a CNLA member — how do I claim my discount?
Mention your CNLA membership (including Landscape Alberta or Landscape Saskatchewan) when booking your free safety call or at checkout, and we’ll apply your 15% member discount.
